__Sun Jul 22nd__ Brass Rail Two-Handed Ballbeque (foosball tournament)
It’s time once again to slap balls with your best and worst friends at the Brass Rail Two-Handed Ballbecue. This year’s amateur tournament features a number of past Brass Rail Foosball legends who are out of playing shape. Many will be total marks in the end because in the past few weeks it’s been nearly impossible to assemble 4 people who can maintain long enough into the evening to get a game started. These are encouraging signs for all those looking to take the pot home!
Zoe will be on hand to demonstrate her status on the cold, fruity, minty, mixed drink scene, and will serve up cold, fruity, minty, Zojitos for all to enjoy. Also running will be the Roller Dome South’s retired slushy machine, churning out frozen screwdrivers and margaritas for those who just want to creep. A couple grills will be going out back, so bring some meats and vegetables to roast. There will be door prizes!
To the foosball competition details:
Like last year’s tournament, partners will be drawn at the beginning of the competition, at 7 PM. Unlike past tournaments, this will not be a single elimination bracket. There will be an initial round that seeds all teams for the bracket. This means that while you may get schooled in the initial seeding round, you will still have the chance to play in the elimination bracket, most likely against a team that is of similar ability. The idea is that everyone gets to play more, as opposed to paying your entrance fee and then getting eliminated five minutes later. If the pool of players is really large, we will shift to a double elimination bracket, and forgo the seeding round. Either way, everyone will get to play more than one game, regardless of ability.
Details of note:
The buy in fee is $5 per person-winners take the pot
No spinning
Drink after every point
Amateurs only
